One of the most popular museums in the province of South Holland is definitely Museon (since almost two years merged with the nearby cinema called Omniversum). It is an institution with an extensive collection in the disciplines of geology, physics, ethnology, archaeology, and technology. Founded in the early twentieth century, it had as its first director the geologist Herman van Cappelle, who collected a considerable amount of artifacts. Since its opening, the museum has been devoted to lecturing, and in 1910 it was the first organization in the Netherlands to show educational films. The museum offers a fascinating journey through history and even today, thanks to its interactive collection, manages to attract both adults and children. The new exhibits focus primarily on the 17 sustainable goals of the United Nations agenda. Visitors come into contact here with the different themes presented in a clear and straightforward manner. One can play and learn at the same time. The educational department also organizes various workshops that make a visit to Museon dynamic and fun.
