Guide to visiting Keukenhof
When traveling to the Netherlands, the Keukenhof Flower Gardens is a must-see. It is one of the largest flower parks in the world. It is located in the municipality of Lisse, about thirty kilometers from Amsterdam. Every year around 7 million bulbs are planted by hand in its fields. The park is famous for its tulips but also features many other different flower varieties. Its colors and the variety of its decorations are a real pleasure for the eyes. The scent of green all around gives sensations of pleasure and relaxation.
Its origins date back to 1400, when in the place where it now stands there was the vegetable garden that offered fruit and vegetables to the castle of Teylingen. It was in 1642 years later that the estate was replaced and enlarged with that of the Keukenhof castle. The garden as we see it now was designed by landscape architects David Zocher and his son Louis Paul Zocher in the nineteenth century.

Opening:
The park is open every day from 08.00 to 19.30 (this year from 24 March to 15 May). The park is only open for a few weeks a year. During this time it can get really busy. We therefore suggest that you plan your visit well and in advance. The influx of people is less before 10 am and after 4 pm.
Accessibility:
The park is accessible to visitors using manual or electric wheelchairs, mobility scooters, and other aids. There are also several accessible toilets throughout the park.
Renting:
For € 5,- a manual wheelchair can be hired from the ticket shop. For the rental, a deposit of € 20,- is required, which is returned when the aid is returned. If you want to take advantage of this service, we recommend that you report it to the park when booking your visit.
Tickets:
They can only be purchased online. At the time of purchase you will need to select a date and time. Click here for the official ticket office. At the park you can also present your e-ticket (so you don't need to print it).
Prices:
- Adults: € 18,50
- Kids (4-17 years): € 9,00. Free for 0-3 years
- Groups (more than 20): € 17,00
Dogs:
Access to the park for dogs is allowed, as long as they are kept on a leash. Only one dog per person is allowed. Dogs are not allowed to enter the restaurants or the pavilions (with the exception of guide dogs and support dogs).
Where to eat:
In addition to several restaurants, in the park there are also mobile refreshment points where you can buy hot dogs, herring, or strawberries among the various products. It is not possible to reserve a seat in the restaurant. Only for groups of more than 20 people it is possible to buy vouchers worth € 6, - with which to pay in the park in advance. Please note that cash payments are not accepted in the park.
