Amsterdam Light Festival 2023
The famous Amsterdam Light Fesival is now in its twelfth edition. If you are visiting the Dutch capital between December and January, don't miss a cruise on the canals of Amsterdam getting closer to the works of contemporary international artists. The theme chosen for this year is "loading": the artists worked on the theme of the effects of technology and artificial intelligence on daily life. Scientific developments are constantly evolving but what does this mean for our society? The route with 24 different luminous works can be experienced either by water with a cruise in the most beautiful canals of the city or by land with a walk.

Dates
From Thursday 30th November until Sunday 21st January 2024.
Opening time
Sunday / Tuesday from 5 pm until 10 pm
Wednesday / Saturday from 5 pm until 11 pm
Two exceptions:
- Christmas Break (23 December until 7 January) the lights are on from 5.00 to 11.00 p.m.
- On the 31st December the lights will be off.
Info points
Stoperaplein: open during the entire festival period, from Thursday to Sunday from 4.00 to 9.00 p.m. During the holiday season from 14 December until 7 January, the point is open every day from 4.00 to 9.00 p.m.
Hoftuin: temporary information point, open every day from 14 December until 7 January, from 4.00 to 9.00 p.m.
Festival Hub
From the 14th of December until the 7th of January you can find additional artworks and takeaway options by the Festival Hub in the Hoftuin (from 4 pm until 9 pm).
Accessible Cruise
Blue Boat in Amsterdam is the only company with accessible boats. The wheelchair accessible boats only depart from our dock opposite Hard Rock Cafe.
If there is a passenger with a wheelchair in the party, a reservation must be made in advance. Available time slots : 7 PM or 9 PM.
Walking route
A walking route of 7.5 km will be soon available via the official App of the Festival. The route can be purchased for Euro 7,50. Please note that the app is developed by the Amsterdam Light Festival Foundation and we do not know if the route is accessible or not.
Mobile App
This year a new app will be available as digital addition to the Amsterdam Light Festival experience. Via the app the visitors will access exclusive content and will be able to buy the walking route.
