In De Waag - Restaurant Café accessibility

De waag restaurant

In de Waag Restaurant-Café is housed in one of the most beautiful historic buildings in the Dutch capital. It is a historical monument whose origins date back to the fifteenth century, when it was built as a city gate. Over the centuries the structure has been used for other purposes including public weighbridge (from which its current name "de waag" derives), headquarters of corporations, anatomical theatre, museum, and headquarters of the fire brigade. Since 1996, the Waag Foundation and a restaurant have been housed in the building. Inside you can breathe a romantic and medieval atmosphere, thanks to the intimate interiors and the 300 candles that illuminate the rooms. You can order international dishes, the prices of which vary between 20 and 26 Euros.
